I am a freelance editor and author. My WIP, a YA novel in verse called BLOOD MOON, was shortlisted for the Bath Children's Novel Award. I have an MA in in Writing for Young People with distinction from Bath Spa University. My published works include picture books, educational texts, phonics books, short stories and poetry.
I also have a degree in English, a master’s in Children’s Literature, and ten years’ experience in children’s publishing. I was shortlisted for the Kim Scott Walwyn Prize in 2011, which celebrates the achievements of young women in publishing. My picture book, Back to School Tortoise, was shortlisted for three awards, including the CCBC Choice Award and featured on Cbeebies Book at Bedtime. My poetry, short stories and academic papers have been published online and in print.
I live in Cardiff with my husband and twins. I like TV written by funny women, science podcasts, snowboarding and croissants. I write at home, talk on the BBC about children’s books, and visit schools to talk about poetry and writing. If you’d like me to visit your school, drop me a message. I’d love to hear from you.
