I am a freelance editor and author. I write picture books, educational texts, including phonics books, short stories and poetry. I have recently written my first novel for young adults.
I have a degree in English, a master’s in Children’s Literature, and ten years’ experience in children’s publishing. I was shortlisted for the Kim Scott Walwyn Prize in 2011, which celebrates the achievements of young women in publishing. My picture book, Back to School Tortoise, was shortlisted for three awards, including the CCBC Choice Award and featured on Cbeebies Book at Bedtime. My poetry, short stories and academic papers have been published online and in print.
I live in Cardiff with my husband and twins. I like TV written by funny women, science podcasts, snowboarding and croissants. I write at home, talk on BBC radio about children’s books, and visit schools to talk about poetry and writing. If you’d like me to visit your school, drop me a message. I’d love to hear from you.
